The world-renowned Renner Academy made its debut in May of this year at the Renner USA headquarters in Scottsdale, Arizona, with the second Academy taking place in October. Attendance is limited to 15 students and both Academies were filled to the maximum. Technicians attended the week long immersion program from all over the U.S. and Canada, and came from as far away as Puerto Rico, Australia, and England. The next Academy will be held in May 2015, and you will be receiving an announcement with the dates and other information shortly. Here are pictures of our first two graduating classes where you may see some of your friends.
Musical Instrument Museum – Phoenix, Arizona
The Musical Instrument Museum also known as The MIM is a world class museum in North Phoenix showcasing musical instruments from around the world, including many vintage pianos. To help visitors understand the importance of the piano action and how it functions, the museum constructed a special exhibit featuring a giant Renner action model and video showing the Renner action being filmed inside a concert grand piano during performance. The exhibit was completed in August of 2012 and is already becoming a major attraction. It is estimated that several hundred thousand visitors will have an opportunity to view the Renner exhibit this year and see up close the nearly 8,800 individual action components that comprise the Renner Action. This is an important recognition of Renner’s preeminent position in the piano industry, and we are highly complimented to have been selected by the museum.
